Center Stage 2026 proudly presents: Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Jr.
June 1st-21st, 2026
Based on the 1968 film of the same name, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang JR tells the story of an eccentric inventor named Caractacus Potts who, with the help of his children Jeremy and Jemima, sets about restoring an old race car from a scrap heap. Soon, they discover the car has magical properties including the ability to float and take flight. However, trouble occurs when the evil Baron Bomburst desires the magic car for himself. Along with the delectable Truly Scrumptious, Caractacus and the children head to Vulgaria to rescue Grandpa Potts (who has been kidnapped by the bumbling duo, Boris and Goran) and rid the kingdom of its tyrannical, child-hating rulers. With a fantastical flying car, a heartwarming love story, and a whole bunch of teamwork, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang JR is a fun-filled musical for all the family.

As we honor the 100th birthday of the incredible Dick Van Dyke, we are very excited to bring this classic to life with our Center Stage Youth. This musical workshop will run June 1st-21st. Our first two weeks will be held in the FCCT workspace to learn all the music, choreography and blocking of the show. The 3rd week we will move into The Lincoln Center Magnolia Theater for a full tech week and shows June 19th-21st. More details and sign up coming early 2026.
