Call for ASSISTANT DIRECTOR/STAGE MANAGER for Fall Production of ELF: THE MUSICAL


We are in need of an independent contractor to work as ASSISTANT DIRECTOR for our fall production. Rehearsals are slated to begin the week after Labor Day.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Cast communication

  • Take notes and blocking during staging rehearsals

  • Make sure there is support for music/dance rehearsals

  • Support Director, communicate needs for props, set, costumes, etc.

  • Make cast/crew sign in sheets for rehearsals and for calls at Lincoln Center

  • Responsible for making sure actors are present at “call” time, gives appropriate time warnings, and calls places.

  • Attends “Paper Tech” with Lighting Designer, Sound Designers, Technical Director & Director during the week prior to set in.

  • Directs running crews at the Lincoln Center.

  • Runs the show in production, and protect the Director’s artistic vision of the show.

This is not an exhaustive list of responsibilities but an overview of the role.
