Description:
Fort Collins Children’s Theatre is a nonprofit arts organization that has been serving Northern Colorado for more than 60 years. Our mission is: Engaging youth and adults through theatrical experiences in order to enrich, inspire, and entertain.
The FCCT Board of Directors comprises leaders from the nonprofit and for-profit sector who are dedicated to the organization’s mission. Serving on the FCCT Organization Board of Directors is an extraordinary opportunity for an individual who is passionate about strengthening leadership and governance in the nonprofit sector.
FCCT’s Board of Directors is currently a working board responsible for maintaining the operational aspects of the organization. FCCT does not at present have an executive director or operational employees, and for the most part the board fills this role. Below is a summary of the expectations held for FCCT board members:
Board members are expected to have the acumen to help the board fulfill its fiduciary responsibilities.
Board members are expected to attend monthly meetings per year. Attendance at 80% of meetings is required. They are expected to read board materials in advance of board meetings and to come prepared to ask questions and participate in discussions.
Board members are expected to serve on one or more committees of the board and to actively participate in committee work. Attendance at 80% of meetings is required.
Board members are expected to play an active role in securing the financial resources necessary for FCCT to achieve its mission. Board members are expected to leverage personal relationships and connections to help the development committee and staff identify and solicit potential funders.
Board members are expected to responsibly represent FCCT to their respective communities and to advocate for FCCT’s mission, programs, and services as appropriate.
Board terms last for three years.
